Plummer starting would be a terrible move in my opinion. It would be blinking on your whole game plan, and be a blow to McKenzie's confidence. It would necessitate a complete change in style for a team struggling to adapt to a new style already.

McKenzie is so far away from the problem the All Blacks have at the moment.

Toggle with the loosies, lock down the first choice fullback and give the guys a few games together and the results will come. The team isn't far away from clicking at all.

I completely agree regarding how close they are to clicking.

Really feels extremely similar to EOYT 2004/2009.

We were trying to adopt a new game plan, not doing it very well but getting closer and closer, and then once it finally clicked it's like the floodgates opened and we never looked back. Each of those wins led to the next decade and a half of complete dominance.

Also interesting is that for both of those iconic games on those tours where it finally 'clicked', it happened against France.

Who we have coming up this tour 👀

Love the optimism. To me it feels more like 1998, where we lost some games badly, some to terrible decisions and our weaknesses got exposed over and over. And that led to 1999 where the same thing ahppened; we were well up in the SF vs France and shat the bed in the second half.

I really hope you're right and I'm wrong!

I’m just sitting here waiting to see the reaction if Razors son gets close to super rugby. He plays 10 and has just secured a spot in crusaders academy. Some would say inevitable, but he’s actually a decent player. Big boy with a good skill set.

same reaction when Carlos' boy got a contract - they're there on merit (presumably)

Taine Plumtree got a Blues contract when John Plumtree was ABs forwards coach.

                      Nobody cared.

I think you are trolling but I'll take your question at face value. If the kid is a good 10 with all the skills we're looking for, if he can turn out for a SR side and play well, then sure let's have him.

If Fozzie had passed over a bunch of SR form players and populated his team with undeserving Chiefs players at every opportunity I would expect everyone on here, you included, would call him out on it. As we should

DMac has been copping it so much this week I assume his middle name must be Ioane.

The three passes seem to be outweighing any decent analysis of his play, and on a rewatch I think only the reverse pass is an actual issue and Razor has taken that better than the fans on here. If the Reece pass had gone to his breadbasket it would have been forward.

Sheesh, I even saw in the match threads claims from a poster that DMac is a shit passer when he's one of the best passers in the game in NZ at the moment.

Same goes for Ethan. If he played the house down I don't think anyone complains. But if there is a feeling you didn't deserve your place, and you can't do your talking on the field, of course those feelings will not be silenced

Plummer is a stop gap if DMac gets injured. Jacomb and Simpson won't be ready before two or three years. They are the most promising 1st Fives right now. I am not on the Godfrey's bandwagon. He is more a fullback than a 10 IMO. Harkin looks fine at NPC level (so do Jacomb and Simpson). Let's see how these young guys perform at SR level (which is no more the best competition, BTW) to have a clearer view.

Jacomb is 23 and was NPC POTY after leading Taranaki to a title last year. Yes, he's not played an awful lot of Super Rugby - but he's certainly ready for some lower level international matches. Get him on the EOYT and he can play against Japan and Italy.

It's crazy that so many good players don't get a chance to play international rugby well past the age that they had breakout seasons

Imagine if Little and Horan had to wait until they were 23 to play for Australia for the first time
