    @Machpants Are you sure

    https://passport.world.rugby/media/j5senlan/2303-update-head_contact_process_en.pdf

Looking at the process, and rewatching the incident, it seems pretty clear to me that Dickson shat the bed.

Law 20: Dangerous play in a ruck or maul.
A ) A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without binding onto another player in the ruck or maul.
B ) A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders.

So that's a clear "Yes" to the first 2 questions.

What was the degree of danger?
Well, it meets the direct contact, high speed, and dynamic criteria (and arguably some others). So that's RC territory.

    Is there any mitigation?
Yup, Tompkins was falling. So that means it's downgraded to YC.

It's a fairly well defined process (whether you agree with it or not), so how the heck they came up with no penalty is a mystery for the ages.

Samoa had the players to easily win that and should have. They seem to be incredibly poorly coached and not at all in unison.

Ah! I got the wrong end of the stick. I thought you were against it in principle but you just hate Squidge.

    As you were then. 😀

Boks left a lot of points out there

Libbok will be kicking himself, but I fear he’d miss

actually, following up my post, maybe that's a way of dealign with the risk elements. If you go in hard, you have some responsibilty - so standing and 'soaking' is a mitigation compared to flying in shoulder first.

I am surprised (if AB stats can be believed) how (comparatively) light he is though. 8kgs less than Rieko and lighter than ALB

    Yeah, but he's faster....

Seriously though, he and Reiko have worked out a good understanding and his playing continuously at 12 in SR this year will have benefited him. Be happy with a no-frills performance in midfield this WE. Against the Boks that'll do just fine.

Surely - SURELY - after Luke Pearce's "bicep, not shoulder" yellow card against Scotland v Wallabies a few weeks back, Kremer escapes any form of punishment and should get an apology for that horrible decision?

Yes waiter, I had the sour grapes. Put them here next to my whine.

I must have been watching a different match

When the stadium announcer said ‘and today’s MOTM is…’

Everyone around me said Tomos Williams

He is everything wrong with Welsh rugby

Faletau put a tremendous shift in

    But Tompkins MOTM for me

Without him we don’t look like scoring

North must be pound for pound the weakest player in the Welsh team

    Dyer went well again

LRZ looked very comfortable at 15

Terrible coaching putting Rowlands back on

Or maybe gunshy from all the head knocks ?

@Frank nope , not at all. As a Stormers supporter I hate the current gameplan as much as anyone else. Our coach tried the same (when we had the Bok tight 5, Kolisi and PSdT) but he changed that and got results

“I’m one of the guys that says ‘the things that happens on the field stays on the field, that’s how it has to be always."

Clearly this is not true. The next word was 'But'

"he just continued picking on me"

    "it really hurt me"

"He said things that I’m sensitive about"

"I just couldn’t understand why he kept picking on me"

It's almost like Coles singled out an emotional player and tried to get him to lose focus on the game.

I'm shocked. Nothing like this ever happens in top level sports.

Won't someone think of the children?? Oh Pablo pulled out that bullshit too

"I know there’s a lot of young kids or young players watched the game and it’s not a good example"

    zzzzz

Smart from Coles, targetted what appears to be a mentally weak player.

Nothing the opposition says should stop you thinking about the game. Fitzy would be proud.

But did it affect him thinking about the game, during the game? All it seemed to impact was the post game handshake…

Certainly did, he was chasing Coles several times rather than getting into position

Pretty funny justifications going on here for Taylor. How many Tests does it take to learn to take a half step and throw it down the middle?

    Was kinda important.

If there is any accountability left in selection he’d be gone. Stunk up the joint for 35 minutes.

Also - wasn't it an all Crusaders tight 5 when he came on (and wasn't that the point)?

Problem maybe Kiwi refs letting them get away with such for years?

    This

    And 'line ball' passes

    Watched the remainder just now.

I maintain there was fuck all between the teams and to be honest the Ockers were probably more creative and looked more likely to score.

Obviously the better team (the one who scored more points being the the one who conceded less points) won.

But not sure you can point the blame at Rennie because his team looked more likely to score more and concede less.

Happy if the Aussies toss him pre RWC though.

Just on half time ref pings Aus for jumping across the line...

Only did that because the throw wasn't straight dick head ...
