To be honest I think AJ has the advantage in most areas , size , reach , power .
While fans make a case for joes speed and power , if the only fights you had seen of his were the last 3 , you would probably question if we are talking about the same fighter .
But anything can happen on the night . Some say ajs style will suit joe , I guess we are about to find out .
I’ve got AJ winnng , probably tko , with joe putting up a brave performance, but wearing too many heavy shots .

Agree mate. Hope we are wrong but see it panning out this way. We havent seen Joes power for a while now. Hope it returns but hard to gain both speed and power at same time. Usually have to sacrifice one for the other

Parker has quite a short reach compared to Joshua.

Joshua has quite a long reach compared to most.

True but Parkers is pretty ordinary for someone 6 foot 4

Have to admit, I just thought he was average and others were above average, but I looked up a few others and yes JP does seem like a kangaroo.

Which is why he does that thing where he lunges forward ( almost jumps ) to throw a combo , it’s been a bit easily read in his last few fights , Joshua is pretty good at slipping punches and countering , I have fears of AJ setting him up here .

I remember thinking when JP fought Fury , if Hughie's head had been 5 inches further back off his shoulders Parker would have knocked him out. His lunging gave him too much reach in that fight.

Remember when Shane Cameron's manager decided it would be a good idea to use his key ring torch, to cringe worthy effect, in the presser before Cameron was basically ruined by Tua? "See that little light? Well its going to be [turns light off] lights out for David Tua..."

Higgins is like that every time he opens his mouth. Its like someone's westie uncle has stumbled drunkenly into a press conference and they're actually letting him speak. There's so much corny ass machismo going on. Higgins is the personification of a bright yellow trans am at at traffic light with a bright red outline eagle on the bonnet, hard out revving its engine at teenagers while blasting "eye of the tiger". Out of date.

I remember Cameron tried the old 'O for awesome' stuff to try and wind up Tua. Fair to say it didn't work.

Fair to say it did work, but not to Cameron's advantage...

Smacked him over in round 2 and went to BK afterwards. Legend.

Just went and re watched on youtube. Man, Tua destroyed him.

I remember thinking that Cameron looked a little scared before the bell rang, and there might be a reason for this.

A boxing trainer told me he watched Tua and a young Cameron spar years before this fight, and he said Tua knocked Cameron out. He said Cameron's body was going to remember that once they got in the ring.

This match-up was seriously tailor made for a classic Tua KO victory. Stylistically, it couldn't of been better for Tua.

Deontay "Whirling Windmill" Wilder fights Luis "was born during the production of the original Kind Kong" Ortiz this Sunday(NZ/OZ time).

People have been saying for some time that Ortiz is older than the 38yo he claims to be and that he is in fact 48yo! It will be an interesting fight but its a circus act and it detracts from the real fight happening later in the month.

Who ever wins AJ vs JP is taking WIlders, or potentially Ortiz belt and easily.

Under card starts at 2pm NZ time if anyone is interested. I believe it's on Sky as a non ppv. It's on regular foxtel here in OZ.

Interesting that Wilder's team have taken this fight tbh. Wilder coming in this light means that he's gonna jab and run hoping that Ortiz will tire. Either that or we'll see Ortiz take a blatant dive similar to Malik Scott against Wilder a few years back.

                  interesting fight this ,

I think we probably find out a lot about Wilder , is he a real threat or a myth , but in my opinion , there is still a certain amount of that in Joshua and Joe ..... how good are they really ? do we really know ,

If Ortiz is rubbish , he possibly gets found out here , an ageing Ortiz is still a well drilled fighter in the Cuban mould ( which is like being a rugby player from NZ) with a long amateur career , he is technically sound , and a south paw ,

Ive got no idea what will happen ,

Got a nice free stream happening too , bonus πŸ™‚

Off topic but how come few if any of the Cubans ever go pro?

Felix Savon had a ridiculously good amateur record and turned down millions to fight Tyson.

Best HW fight in a while. Give Wilder his props as he looked gone. Ortiz needed to finish him off when he had the chance.

Wilder eventually has too much - great comeback from being all but down at the end of the 6th (or 7th?).

                            Very entertaining fight.

At one stage thought Wilder was going to get the award as the goose of the year for his constant trash talking of Joshua in the lead up

                                      interesting fight this ,

Communist country , they have to defect to do that , but have had the best amateur boxing team in world boxing for some time

Righto gotcha. Have never thought about that specifically but it makes sense.

Teofilo Stevenson was probably the greatest amateur heavyweight of all time , 3 consecutive olympic gold medals ,

And boxed during the Ali era , many wished he could somehow switch to the pro ranks , he was 6 foot 5 , massive for that era , was offered 5 million to defect and fight Ali

shame we never got to see how he wouldve gone

Wilder did benefit from some generous refereeing at the start of the 8th with the mystery water in the ring. It's like deliberately spitting out your mouthguard to buy yourself some time.

For someone who is built like a basketballer (tall and skinny) Wilder does have some power.
