Tu'inukuafe needs to be in the 23 for Perth if he remains in the squad. Some of the squad would be better served to be released to their province to play in the next 2-3 weeks.

So with the first two tests done, they will drop a number of players. Are they reducing the team from 39 to 35?

That would mean they will drop 4 players. Retallick is unavailable for the Bledisloe Cup matches and by Wednesday they'll know whether he'll be available for the RWC.

      -1
I don't think they'll drop a prop or hooker yet, esp because Aumua hasn't played yet. But if they drop a prop and/or a hooker, the most likely candidates will IMO be Aumua and one of Moli/Laulala.

      -2
If Brodie is unavailable for the RWC, they'll probably keep Hemopo. He is the only player who was called up as a utility forward, not Fifita! Alternative: call up Pat T and drop an extra loosie.

I think it's more likely they'll drop a loose forward. I think it will be one of the candidate sixes: Fifita, Frizell, Jacobson and Papali'i. Normally, I'd say it would have to be Fifita, but with Brodie out, who knows what they'll do. I don't think they'll drop Frizell. So if they drop a second loosie, it will be one of Jacobson and Papali'i. I don't expect them to drop Todd (yet).

      -3
I don't think they'll drop Josh Ioane yet, because he needs to be in the environment for as long as possible, even though he is unlikely to make the RWC squad. I don't see them make a choice between Laumape and SBW yet, so it's probably Ennor who has to go from the midfielders.

      -4
They're likely to drop an outside back. Jordie is their lovechild, so he wont' get dropped. I think Reece will be the one to get dropped.

@Stargazer I think they will drop a prop and a hooker - I think this squad is a bit like the one they took to Japan last year - some guys were only picked to allow them to rest their big guns.

We don't need seven props or four hookers within the squad of 34.

Sure, they're probably hopeful he's available tomorrow! Likely is what I need to hear, not hopeful

dislocations can be straight forward and he might be sweet for the RWC, but could be complicated and potentially see him requiring reconstructive surgery and be gone for the rest of the year.

No major nerve or ligament damage then. Good stuff, he should make it in time. Thank god for that.

Awesome to see young gun Jordan Petaia back. He is the Folau type player the Wallabies need. Get rid of Tevita Kuridrani and Hodge - both are a bit average IMO. Bring in Petaia & Maddocks and the Wallabies start to look dangerous again. Where is Maddocks anyway?

I think his best position is fullback but the Wallabies have a few players that fit that same category (Beale, Banks, DHP).

Presumably he meant Frankenstein's monster. A bit harsh on one of our greats too, but we don't love him for his looks I guess.

That really is an unfortunate photo of Retallick

@MN5 I giggle like a child looking at that photo now. Some things you just can't unsee.

I see Japan now 9th and Argentina 11th in World Rankings.

Would Japan be a more attractive option then Argentina for the RC??

In any case, I'd be keen on NZ playing Japan rather than the likes of Italy on the end of year tours.

@Billy-Tell Well Japan have just beaten the USA, Tonga and Fiji so I wouldn't take those rankings too seriously.
