    From Wales online re: Mooar-
The Scarlets have started the search for a new coach after becoming resigned to losing Brad Mooar to the All Blacks.

It seems to be a question of not if but when he will depart, with talks taking place with New Zealand Rugby over a compensation package.

Sources Down Under say the Kiwis are prepared to stump up money for Mooar to become part of new All Blacks head coach Ian Foster’s back-room staff.

Mooar is just six months into a three-year deal with the Scarlets and it’s believed they have put a price tag of around the £200,000 mark on his head to grant an early release.

However, power-brokers concede there’s no point attempting to hold on to the 45-year-old if he’s intent on accepting what may be a once in a lifetime approach to become a coach with the All Blacks.

It’s a strategy they adopted five years ago when Ireland moved to prise Scarlets great Simon Easterby away from the Llanelli-based region.
he Irish Rugby Football Union duly coughed up cash with the Scarlets promoting Wayne Pivac, who was due to join them as forwards guru, to head honcho.

Pivac’s departure at the end of last season to succeed Warren Gatland as Wales boss resulted in the recruitment of Mooar, who was an assistant to Scott Robertson at the Crusaders as the Christchurch-based Super Rugby franchise won three consecutive titles.

The Scarlets could again promote from within and look to defence chief Glenn Delaney a respected figure in his native New Zealand following stints as an assistant with the Highlanders Super Rugby team and as head man with provincial side Canterbury, who he guided to a Mitre 10 Cup title.
Delaney was previously lead coach of English sides London Irish and Nottingham. He replaced then Wales-bound Byron Hayward as defence coach of the Scarlets during the summer recess.

However, WalesOnline understands the Scarlets will consider other applications and have already put out feelers to gauge interest.

The dilemma they face is when Mooar should leave, assuming a deal is struck with New Zealand Rugby.

Do they attempt or want to kept him until the end of the campaign or release him early and perhaps install Delaney on a caretaker basis?
The other question they face is when the All Blacks will want Mooar to start work?

Their opening fixture under the command of Foster, whose appointment hasn’t gone done well with a large proportion of the Kiwi public, is against Wales in Auckland on July 4 next year.

The Guinness PRO14 final takes place in Cardiff on June 20 – the same day as the Super Rugby final – and that could figure in the thinking of the three parties: Mooar, Scarlets and New Zealand Rugby.

Mooar could, if Foster allows, scrutinise the performances of potential All Blacks players from Wales, as Australia’s new coach Dave Rennie intends doing with the Wallabies as he sees out his contract to the end of the season with Glasgow Warriors.

All Blacks Head Coach Ian Foster has today confirmed the bulk of his All Blacks coaching team.

Foster will be joined by Hurricanes Head Coach John Plumtree, former All Black and Maori All Black and Ireland scrum coach Greg Feek, with former All Black Scott McLeod also continuing in his defence role in the All Blacks coaching team.

Plumtree will look after the forwards in the new coaching set-up alongside Feek who will be scrum coach.

The coaches have been appointed for a two-year period. One more coach will be announced in due course.

Former All Black Grant Fox will continue as a selector for the 2020 season alongside Foster and Plumtree

@sparky I think they're still trying to get Brad Mooar. Not sure whether he counts as a rockstar though.

A bit harsh to blame Foster for claims that Marc Hinton made

So the roles would possibly be:

                              Foster - Head coach & Selector/Attack
                              Plumtree - Forwards & Selector
                              Feek - Scrum/Set-piece
                              McLeod - Defence

                              Fox - Selector

                              Mooar - Backs/Skills?

No mention of David Hill (kicking/skills).

Robertson doesn't come across smug like Mooar does, and he's far more responsible for the Crusaders success than Mooar.

I'd imagine Mooar has always been the nice, jovial coach at every team he's coached at. Until he had to work under a nicer, more jovial coach in Razor.
