@nzzp Just wondering why SA wouldn't have their Northern Hemisphere stars to pick from? Have they changed their selection policy or are you basing this on the potential impact of Covid?

I may be wrong, but my understanding was that both SA and Aus selected a bunch of players out of the NH specifically for the RWC.
If they don't you run into seasonal issues; travel, conditioning, etc. But hey - you coudl be right; we may get those players selected again soon. Great for international rugby, not so good for the players, terrible for clubs

Australia didn't, but are reviewing the Giteau rule (lower caps minimum or get rid), SA got rid of the no overseas limit totally.

Really sucks we don't have any AB rugby to look forward to right now.
Cane is a good choice, I've always favoured him over Whitelock. He has a bit of McCaw about him with his sheer determination that would inspire the others.
On Ardie - I really like him at 8 and would be happy with 6. Big Bopper / 7. Cane / 8. Ardie.
I actually think Ardie will go better at 8 than Read did for his last couple of seasons. He's explosive with ball in hand and can play a wider game there while our 6/7 keep it tight - that worked perfectly when Read was in his prime.
I don't think he should play 6 and he should never in a thousand years have started at 7 over Cane against a team whose only fucking plan of attack was to beat us up in the forwards. Jesus Christ that was some braindead shit from the coaches.

See this is the problem with modern life and technology. Facing his hour of reckoning, our erstwhile hero is still posting online from the wooden apparatus he's attached to. No doubt keeping instagram up to date too.
TBH I was looking forward to seeing if the angry mob is baying. But there are only 10 people and the're wearing masks and standing 2 m apart. All a bit of a letdown really.
