I’m really looking forward to the Wallaby Puma game, might Ben a game I can actually enjoy. I wonder what the mood around camp will be like next few weeks.

It is astounding how much I'll cheer the Pumas that game.
              They've won me over.

That game made all of the worst fears about the Foster era come true. He won't make it to the next world cup. Shit he'll be lucky to make it until the end of the RC next year. That looked like a team that was poorly coached and poorly prepared.

It's been on the cards for years (and screamed from the rooftops here at TSF) that we need to up the physicality because the game is changing. But due to arrogance or hubris or both, the brains trust seem to be blind to that fact. They need to get wise fast or the next few years are going to make 98 look like the golden era.

It's the mental attitude and senior player leadership which seems the problem for me and that's been going downhill for several years.

And I'm not sure if Foster is the one to sort that out.

Playing people in their specialist position is my surprise suggestion to the coaching staff.
                  Oh and revisiting the midfield.
I'm beginning to think (and this surprises me after the Conrad Smith years) we have enough good 13s but are missing quality 12s.
Arguably ALB, JG, PUJ (my preference, I think, need to see more of him) and RI are 13. ALB is a goodish 12 as well and the best 12/13 bench replacement but is he the best 12? Perhaps. NL doesn't look 100% and we don't have many other options. I miss Crotty.

The Argies are generally a likeable team. I used to like them even during the Porta years when he was the only back above 9 allowed to join in..

Loose forwards got monstered in the first half.

It's amazing how we could see that Frizell and to a lesser extent Ardie don't have the required physically for test rugby, yet Foster, Plumtree and co can't.

@Kirwan Ardie is the wrong number 8 for any team that matches us. Hoskins should start now. We have lots of 6s just need to pick the best.

IMO Ardie actually played quite well. He definitely wasn't the worst player out there and had a lot of energy for the final try. He just didn't offer what we needed tonight.

He played well...but he played like a 7...so we had one tackling 7 and one running 7...and were missing an 8

                                And a hard running six....

Please no more Frizell from now on. SR is his level.

@akan004 It’s because they are running off an old template of a speed game with light back-like loose forwards running oppositions ragged. Three problems with that - one, you need to win first phase possession, two you need to be competitive at the breakdown and three, you need a strategy that has not already been on show for five years. This is very ordinary and unimaginative coaching. It’s like when Tim Cook took over from Steve Jobs at Apple. The thinking was ‘we have a winning formula. Just keep on churning out product based on the same template that the rest of the world has already worked out years ago’. It’s stale thinking from mediocrities standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before and enabled by conservative money men who are chained to what they think is a winning formula.

I would love to hear what BB really thinks of Foster and what has happened the last few years. I have a sneaking suspicion behind closed doors he thinks foster is a fluffybunny. This no doubt creeps into the culture of players etc and may help explain why he has just been off for some time.

Missed tackles is being listed as ABs 6 v ARG 7 .

                                          But one linebreak ABs. Geez.
