He says he has a lot of faith in Sam Cane as a player and a person after retaining him as captain.

So minimal player changes, including dumb selections like the woman beater, no leadership changes, no coaching changes, and only using Schmidt as a selector. Everything is fine. Fucking delusional.

Happy to see Dickson in there and could be a chance to get a bench gig in SA with Retallick definitely out and Barrett under a cloud.
I don’t mind so much that basically the same players are selected, I just hope to see a couple of better combinations, for instance the Saders or Blues 10-12-13 or the Saders back 3 or the Blues loose forwards, the Saders locks, 2/3 of a Chiefs front row.
At least they will know each other’s names and how the guy next to them plays. In normal circumstances what franchise they play for, I couldn’t care less, but we are in a deep hole teamwork wise and we need to find a bit of cohesion. Rebuild some confidence too. When the squad is confident it’s a little easier to make changes when required.

Sounds like either Foster still has some say or Schmidt doesn't want too much of his name tacked onto the spare tire of the "learnings" bus.

SENZ radio said the PR team at NZR refused to let media live stream the press conference. This is just really dumb media relations. The organisation is looking completely incompetent.
