@antipodean I wonder if the 'rush' to find out more included what exactly a vegan is, or does it include typing 'vegan' into the search bar, then clicking 'images' for all the cool memes of fuckhead vegans?

I'm sitting here eating what I expect is as close to a vegan lunch as I possibly ever will (although the mayo probably disqualifies it...) but I had a big old steak on the BBQ last night, oh and sausages, think I have roast chicken tonight, so, yeah nah.

@MN5 That headline is...disturbing. I suspect written by someone who is a vegan and continuing a decade long journey to get laid.

is there anywhere in the world where the main farmed animals (sheep, cows) truly roam free and wild?

If we rid ourselves of eating these animals, what happens to these animals, what farmer is gonna keep a herd of cattle with no value to his business? Do these anumals become extinct?

Do vegans get laid ? They seem to want to take every ounce of enjoyment out of life .

NZ being NZ it was probably spell check correcting the misspelled attempts of a bunch of ferals to find out what a "virgin" is

No doubt it's been mentioned but another annoyance with vegan food is the insistence on calling their food after meat/fish when it isn't. Like I saw a "vegan fish burger" being advertised. It's not fish you dickheads, it's tofu. Why not just call it what it is?

Because even vegans have the decency to realise their food is shit and needs all the help they can get to make it more appealing.

If they were decent, they wouldn't tell you it "tastes just like fish/ meat/ etc".

One thing I've noticed during my lifetime is our decreasing ability as individuals or small groups in society to effectively enforce fundamental social norms.
Increasingly we need all manner of authority intervention to settle pretty obvious anti social situations.

The upshot of all this is that if you strategically planned and executed a way of life where social approval meant nothing, there's fuck all ways we have of stopping that behaviour or even coping with it.

What to do with people that violate or ignore long held social contracts?

What do you do with people that won't pay fines and aren't deterred by the threat of jail (even on rare occasions where it gets that far)?

You can only remove them from your territory and even that's fraught with damning disapproval.

This is really evident in developing countries with slack law and order, where a community lead hiding takes the place ( bloody effectively to a point, I might add). But not in "civilised" 1st world.

The way things stand now these antisocial groups and individuals know that they'll face little or no consequences, and will be significantly empowered, and we'll have to clean up the mess because of public relations

Frustrates the fuck out of me, but that's what we've got because we have no plan B for 1 or 2 percent who don't give a fuck in a physical world

I think a lot of it is down to the fact police aren't allowed to smash people's kneecaps in and chuck them in the cells for the night anymore.

They have to actually talk to them now and they're paranoid ( rightfully so ) that some feral fuck and his ten mates will have their camera phones at the ready just itching for any potential police brutality.

We need to take a leaf out of Singapore's book. Harshly punish those who engage in antisocial behaviours that have a significant impact on the rest of the population

Won't be happening anytime soon with horse face in charge. People acting feral is obviously on account of horrible upbringing so let's counsel them first instead of the genuine victims.
