    • 4 quality lineout jumpers ☑
    • good height and quality of lifters ☑
    • rock-solid hooker playing his 100th test in the form of his life ☑

So I am looking forward to seeing us keep the ball in play rather than kicking for touch. I fully expect BB to showcase his range of bombs and grubbers from all over the park, and I am even tipping a return of the much-loved but strangely absent crosskick...

Was quite difficult to read that as there was so much sarcasm dripping off it. Nice work.

Sadly, it is likely to be very true, but we live in hope.

Tuipulotu is a big miss when you see Lord there, otherwise the bench looks alright.

Yeah it not only sucks when a player who is in really good form gets injured, but that their role in the team is well defined and they are playing to it.

Patty and Lord are chalk and cheese in terms of the type of player they are.

Yeah I consider Lord as a start or don't play type player too, but Holland is ahead of him currently and for a while too. We don't really have anyone else in fairness who can play Pat's role off the bench either, so the selection of Lord isn't a criticism, it's just that we won't get the same impact as Pat would provide us.

The last time I can recall us having such lineout firepower was 2019 when Sir Steve picked Whitelock, Retallick, SBarrett and Read.

Let's hope the Argies don't find an Itoje. 🙂

(We might have confused ourselves with having so many options and still finding it not working).

But Retallick and Scooter were used interchangeably throughout therefore they weren’t always in there. I expect the same on Sunday morning.

@ACT-Crusader and he hasnt had a decent stint to try and establish himself, or show his true value, he keeps getting injured.

He is a big munter, so along with PT, we have a couple of good big men to keep the heat on SB & FH, with Vaai there too, Darry still to come back, and then a few other quality super rugby locks too, our lock stocks look damn fine right now.

Ryan has created a formidable pack, and developing depth, still some finetuning to be done, but importanlty, just need to get the backs firing on all cylinders.

Huge congratulations to Codie Taylor on reaching 100 Tests. He's been around since 2015. He watched and learned from the great Dane Coles, worked damn hard and has now become perhaps the first name on the AB team sheet.

Yep always a consistent campaigner. Let’s hope he holds his form through to the WC.

Lord would be a more natural sub for Holland.

I think this would have been a perfect opportunity to have Leroy Carter off the bench covering wing and halfback, then we would could of had an extra loosie in Lakai.

It would probably be unheard of to have a rookie covering such a crucial position in test rugby when he's not even known for it at any level, let alone being known for any other position.

                      But yeah, hurricanes!

                      Hurricanes.

                      Hurricanes.

I think your point would be valid if the guy coming off the bench actually offered something.

                      Iose must be injured.

What does Iose have to do with Christie?

My suggestion was to have a bench of Taukei’aho, Williams, Tosi, Lord, Sititi, Lakai, Carter and McKenzie, forming our own bomb squad. Perfect test to try it.

You’re too conservative in your old age.

Kinda ludicrous that we currently have a forward pack that we can't fit everyone in and a backline seemingly comprised of the Illford 2nd 15

To be fair, Taylor was in garbage form throughout all of 2022. Maybe he had to play himself back into form for the All Blacks but that's not a luxury other players get afforded. Could he have regained his form if he'd been dropped? Potentially.

What matters is the BEST team, not whether it is the product of "fresh thinking" or not

To be fair, Taylor was in garbage form throughout all of 2022. Maybe he had to play himself back into form for the All Blacks but that's not a luxury other players get afforded. Could he have regained his form if he'd been dropped? Potentially.

Yeah that combined with ST in probably career best form. It wasn't pretty.

Huge congratulations to Codie Taylor on reaching 100 Tests. He's been around since 2015. He watched and learned from the great Dane Coles, worked damn hard and has now become perhaps the first name on the AB team sheet.

I recall him being roundly lauded as of the 2017 Lions, so took a year or so to get over?

Feel free to actually include some context.

In 2022 Codie Taylor's form fell of a cliff. From memory there was some oil in here that he had some off the field issues he was working through

In 2022 Samisoni had a breakout year and really started putting pressure on

More recently Codie Taylor has hit a real purple patch of form and Samisoni's form has dropped away (though a highly promising display last week).

Plumtree only lasted 3 tests as forwards coach before Jase Ryan came in
