TBF though, I can't blame Aussies for treating the result with a bi of disdain given how much we shit the bed when we toured there last.

at least we could beat the Indians at home, eh šŸ™‚

seriously, give us a proper warmup and a better selection policy and we may have been competitive.

We have Kylo and Devon as well now. Much better team

I turned sky sport back on yesterday for the cricket test final.

I still have mysky recorder. For the last half year or year I have had only this service. Paying 30 bucks a month to rent the mysky, no channels. (Because I have no other aerial, and if I buy a freeview recorder, as I intend to, it costs about the same as a year renting current box, budgets still to tight)

Anyway. Uhmed and aahed over whether to just go the sky online sport now app, or turn the actual tv back on. Would cost same amount, opted for tv.

All I have to say is FUCKING RAIN FADE, first thing I record, Eng v Sco euros. Cold drizzly saturday, perfect for watching sport, its unwatchable.

    Digital satelite tv is dead.

Guess I'll now see if sky go has this game on demand. Assume I still use sky go rather than sky sports now?

Voda TV Box. As long as you have fibre that is. Records to the cloud and you can turn Sky on and off. Only downside is that to use the built in Sky part you need to do the full sub and pay for shit channels you don't want.
I save $20 by using SkySportNow app and casting but you do lose the ability to quickly switch sports channels when there is more than one thing worth watching and quick rewinds are tricky.

@Catogrande Great tries IMHO win you games.

Ok I’ll add Tuilagi’s try v NZ in the recent RWC. 😁

Nup. Drawn a blank. No memory of that at all.

I’ll see if I can dig out a few vids for you. They show it from all angles, real time, slow-mo, super slow-mo. Bear with me for a while while I compile a montage.

I hope that somewhere, someone is trying to get the rugby Championship back on track following the same model as the Six nations (NZ, SA, Oz, Fiji, Japan, Argies) with five games per team. I imagine one of these assholes companies will pay plenty for some of that action.

    A common calendar would help.

Now. To digress to Rugby Nation.

I watched this for first time this year.

What the hell. It's now only 30 minutes long.

I usually like(d) this program during the international windows. Seeing all the games short highlights, even the more obscure ones. Ire v Jap and Arg v Rom were reduced to 1 try as they segue to the commercial break.

After the gay marriage postal vote and soccer things today, it seems only appropriate:

    http://www.betootaadvocate.com/sports/local-gay-socceroos-supporter-literally-explodes/

**Local Gay Socceroos Supporter Literally Explodes** As if today couldn’t get any better for Dave Hatton, it just did. This morning, his love for his partner Michael was validated and accepted by the majority of his fellow Australians. Tonight, his second loves just qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Speaking to The Advocate moments after his head exploded with pure ecstasy and love, the 31-year-old concierge said that today has been ā€˜quite full-on.’ ā€œYeah, my head just exploded everywhere,ā€ he said. ā€œToday has been a great day, compared to other days I’ve lived previously,ā€ ā€œThis morning, we felt reached a highwater mark of love and acceptance in this country. This afternoon, we get revenge on the Italians for kicking us out of the World Cup in 2006. With the greatest respect guys, succhiarmi il cazzo.ā€ From the Betoota Hotel beer garden when a number of young football fans are watching the game, every late night trading venue in the Old City district of town has been granted special permission by Mayor Councillor Keith Carton to remain open. ā€œIf anybody closes their nightclub before Sunday, they’re a bum,ā€ shouted Carton from the roof of the Dolphins Club. ā€œLettuce party!ā€ More to come, tomorrow.

@rotated From the match reports Evans only played once at fullback in 2007 RWC and McAlister and him shared the kicking - I assume McAlister kicked until he was replaced. The Portugal match he kicked all the conversions but he was playing at 10 that day.

Right you are - Evans kicked more but McAlister kidked first against Romania

@Crucial what fucks me off about the ruck is that defenders get pinged for not rolling when cleaners have flopped off their feet trapping them.

Doubly infuriating because defenders on their feet aren’t allowed to reach into this muck (a ā€œruckā€ where their are no cleaners on their feet) AND get pinged if they clean out the halfback whose within a yard of the muck.

Re Fifita. There is a Ferner that knows his story intimately and from the bits I have picked up this is also more complicated than simply being a 'poach for rugby reasons'.
A lot of people have altruistically put time, money and support into the kid for primarily reasons of wellbeing. The rugby is a side effect of that and a pathway to achieve the outcome they were seeking.
I would guess this is a similar story with many of these guys and it is a rough assumption that they are being given opportunities in life for rugby reasons. The rugby may be a means to an end or a lucky side effect.
The schools do go looking for talent, that can't be denied, but in many cases it falls into their laps as well.

The initial list probably also needs cutting down to those players only eligible for NZ because of residency gained during/after schooling.
