From what I heard from someone at the Waikato club final, it sounds like the ABs might need two new halfbacks for the Arg leg. Hotham had surgery and Ratima has a high ankle sprain so out for a few weeks.

Roigard to play 80 mins, but who will we see brought into the squad? Christie, Fakatava, Roe and Preston are all possibilities.

Hope they'll go for Fakatava in the 23 but think Christie will be in the squad on the "known quantity" theory.

    Na I don’t reckon.

See Havili, David and Blackadder, Ethan.

I think they’ll likely bring in Fakatava, Roe or Preston. Christie is heading off so doubt it will be him.

I realise he's a midget in the modern game, but I was routinely impressed by Roe's game this year in SR. Well rounded skillset with good decision making.

Yeah, bit more of a playmaker in the JGP mould.

Not what I'd like to see, but think they'll be weighing up Christie against a complete newbie

In what way? Excluding Roigard, Roe is slightly lighter than Ratima and Hotham but a similar height. Christie seems to be the midget amongst them.

I remember JGP playing for the Blues and he was a bit of a talent. Pretty similar to some of the back up options to Roigard we have now.

How did JGP get so good? He wasn't close to the player he is now. Are we not capable of developing our players to the same level?

His top two inches went next level while he was over there. I don't recall him having the same level of kicking game.

@brodean perhaps we've actually exported our best IP - talented coaches have limited opportunities in a shallow pond and hence earning potential.

There's a great correlation in the improvement of the NH with the increase in players and coaches taking career prospects available to them OS.

@brodean When JGP was at the Hurricanes I thought he was a better player than TJ Perenera. But Perenera was an NZR favourite so he got more game time.

The slower tempo of the game in Ireland and more structured approach has suited JGP's game.

Yeah that's simply it, he's an excellent structure player, takes great options on the quick ruck, inside channel off loading style game. Wasn't really suited to the free flowing super rugby style a decade or so ago.

Leicester should be straight back in the squad. He killed it in France at centre and is better than all of our current wings.

The coaching in France must be amazing for him to have improved that much.

Probably all been discussed already but I have been slack on the forum lately.

Latest reports are Lomax had hand surgery and will miss the 2 tests against Argentina.

Beaudy(Broken hand) and Scott Barrett(torn calf) should be on track for test 1 of the rugby championship.

Noah Hotham has had ankle surgery and will be out for up to 8 weeks.

Luke Jacobson a thigh injury and out for 5 weeks.

Sititi should be back in around 3 weeks.

Vai’i should return in 2 weeks from concussion.

Clarke likely to be out 6 weeks

George Dyer should get himself a trip to Arg then.

The coaching in France must be amazing for him to have improved that much.

If you didn't watch any of his 40+ games for Toulon then just say so.

How does that affect my point?

Because he's obviously improved and continuing to improve... He's been incredible at Toulon. Still only 25 y/o and was ahead of our current crop of wings when he left.

I just think he should be there as soon as he's able. Unless he stinks up the joint for Ta$man, which I highly doubt.
