How has Harry Godfrey been playing?
Ok, but he often at 15 for the Hawke Eyes.

based on NPC, Jacomb has been more consistent and looked more assured, Reihana on the other hand, while playing well, has made some absolute howler errors, ones someone playing at his level shouldnt be making.
It’s a funny one with Reihana, he looked far more comfortable playing for the Saders earlier in the year than some of the games I’ve watched him play this years NPC.
Whereas Jacomb has played with time and space.
If it were me and the current AB coaches don’t see Love as a 10 option, I would take Jacomb on tour with the ABs and have Reihana with the AB XV.
-
I like Jacomb as a prospect, but also he has not shown anything yet to remotely suggest he would be an upgrade on Barrett/McKenzie at Super Rugby level.
It is imperative he plays week in week out next season for the sake of NZR, as I personally think of those who have already played first class rugby, he is the only one at this point who looks like he could be an ABs 10.

He should probably ask to be transfered to the Highlanders then?

He has. Chiefs are the ones holding it up.

Then maybe he should just go up the road to the Blues!

I assume he means the Chiefs don't want to let him go to anyone

The Blues have Beaudy! No other 10 will be willing to move there until he has retired.

Perofecta wasn't my idea of the answer. But he either wasn't allowed to leave, or is happy to stay and not have a chance to steer his own cutter

Arguably there's more value in a 10 playing for AB XV than the ABs given Beauden is fit and they've shown no interest in developing a 3rd 10 - at least you'll get game time as opposed to holding tackle bags.
I understand that some of the AB squad will be released to play England A. Seems like the game for Love in play in then.
-
@family-man Injured currently.

If Tavatavanawai is back, does that spell the end for one of Proctor or ALB?
Doubt it spells the end for Proctor, he's far too young, ALB maybe so. Tavatavanawai isn't a centre so not exactly like for like.
-
@Canes4life Sorry, initial statement was going to be for ALB. With Tupaea playing 13, I think there is every chance ALB or Proctor gets shunted down - particularly if they see Tavatavanawai being able to fill the bench role.
J Barrett & Tupaea backed up by T Tavatavanawai and R Ioane.
If they are looking for a fifth one, they may favour ALB's experience + ability to also play 12.
Tupaea's performance in Perth was comfortably better than anything Proctor has shown this year, and probably somewhat puts to bed the argument that the reason he has been a bit lacklustre due to those inside him.

Tupaea had a great match, don't get me wrong but it also coincided with McKenzie playing 10, which allowed Tupaea to get the ball in his hands more. If the ABs used Proctor the way the Hurricanes have, I'm almost certain he would have a lot more positive effect on this team.
-
@frugby Robertson suggested Proctor was only being rested for last weekend's match. Hard to see him being dropped from the squad entirely after saying that, even if he's being a bit misleading. It will be interesting on how long that 'rest' lasts, given Tupaea's performance though.

Speaking on it from a far more impartial view than you can provide (
) Tupaea just seems to have far more cut and thrust than Proctor. Only one game yes but that's the best performance from a 13 I can remember in ages.I think Proctor will struggle from here on it, perhaps a game against Wales and that might be it on the EOTY.

Come on, McKenzie didn't play that well. Tupaea just runs harder lines which sucks the defence - he's also a much better tackler than Proctor.
Proctor had six tests to start the year, and didn't even show a glimpse. I'm not writing him off forever, but the fact Ioane was on the bench in Perth, and came on at centre, would suggest Proctor has been relegated to third choice.
