I think the selection is perfectly reasonable. The UK teams will take no prisoners. Pledger Casey and Mathis could all do with a season of initiation to super rugby. And not sure Tangitau is accurate enough for next level yet.
Maybe would have Darry over Lord. And surprised Mafileo chosen over Dyer, but that was flagged anyway.
Papalii would be a good captain for AB XV if available. Look forward to seeing Jacomb and Reihana there too.
Bolters? Bartlett, Beehre, V,Lasaga and Fineangano would all please me.

I understand your argument, but we have to be careful not to "Stevenson" or "Laumape" more players.

We need to get them involved and feeling involved early doors or they will fuck off somewhere else.

Has Ruben Love got a fair shake? Did Perofeta? Did Plummer? Did Sotutu?

The Allblacks has an ever growing list of hard luck stories and "guess we will never know's".

Its all well and good having incumbents and centrally contracted stars, but they need to hold up their end of the couch, otherwise it is akin to a bloated over paid civil service.

Players have to think good performances provincially will be rewarded with higher honours and the corollary of that also applies....under performing Allblacks need to have their feet held to the fire.

Pretty baffling that ALB, Jacobson, and Finau are in the team. Does Jacobson ever play? Is he an extra coach or something?

I know he is the GOAT but we didnt wait for Dan Carter to be a regular at 10 for the Crusaders before we gave him the gig.

Shit or get off the pot with Ruben Love......we should have by now for fuck sake.

And if he isnt good enough then get Josh Jacomb in.

Move fast and break things as the tech bro's say.

We dont seem to be trying anything.

How can you suffer a 43-10 record loss at home and think George Bell is the only change that needs to be made to the squad?

It's almost a tacit admission that coaching is the problem.....if you dont drop the players, you're de-facto blaming the tactics or training?

Or its just chalked off as a particularly bad day at the office?

squad is a clear statement that they think they not only have the right players, but they are close to clicking. We may beg to differ, but at least i can admire their commitment to the path.

Given that appears to be the case, i now hope it either goes spectacularly right, or spectacularly wrong. Another middle of the road tour means another 12 months of the same shit, and in fact probably right through to the World Cup.

There are some very lucky tourists who will get a mean holiday.

This is by far the most likely scenario.

Must be a great guy to have around the team, because he doesn't do anymore than that

                    You could almost say neither.
Robertson has his squad, and that is pretty much it.
I'd say from now thru to the WC, the only players who are coming in, are injury replacements.
And signings from overseas, of course.

South Africas huge population and player pool is now often cited as one of their advantages over us.

Our pool is much smaller yes, but we dont help ourselves by deifying 30 lads and giving nobody else a chance.

                                  Raises a good question though...

Despite having so much more fresh and upcoming talent to pick from, South Africa's TRC squad included 23 players who were 30 years of age or older.

                                  New Zealand's included seven.

Why are South Africa currently getting so much more out of their older players?

South Africas huge population and player pool is now often cited as one of their advantages over us.

Our pool is much smaller yes, but we dont help ourselves by deifying 30 lads and giving nobody else a chance.

                                    Raises a good question though...

Despite having so much more fresh and upcoming talent to pick from, South Africa's TRC squad included 23 players who were 30 years of age or older.

                                    New Zealand's included seven.

Why are South Africa currently getting so much more out of their older players?

This might not answer your question specifically but I think it's because when Rassie selects a player he does so with intent. Intent to play them. Intent to play them in key moments in key situations, when the game is on the line. He doesn't waste selections on players who he wants to hold tackle bags.

In contrast Razor will select a player like Love with no intent to play him and do the same with an older player like Jacobson or ALB.

Rassie is also not afraid in the least to drop a player or rotate a player out of the team. There really are no incumbents in the team. The jersey is up for grabs at every game and I feel like he is able to get more out of his players because of that.

This might be an oversimplification of the situation (and it probably is) but I think that is the approximate reason why Rassie gets more from his players. Or if he doesn't then he shuffles that player to the bottom of the deck and gives someone else a crack.

                                      Here's a related statistic.

Richie has played Ireland seven times.

He's started twice and we've won both games (at World Cups).

Five times he's been on the bench behind Beaudy. We've lost four of those five games.

@Chris-B that simply highlights what so many have been saying for some time

How can you suffer a 43-10 record loss at home and think George Bell is the only change that needs to be made to the squad?

It's almost a tacit admission that coaching is the problem.....if you dont drop the players, you're de-facto blaming the tactics or training?

Or its just chalked off as a particularly bad day at the office?

It’s almost unbelievable they haven’t moved a couple of the coaching staff on after that performance. The defence has been awful all year. The backline’s been subpar. Robertson thinks he’s going to use his terrible motivation methodology - ‘walk together’ - to win a World Cup.

He has time to save it. But Razor is looking like a one and done AB coach right now
