DPs decision.Is this connected to Robertson's treatment of Sotutu, their was a lot of talk that he and Ryan leaked his non-selection before the 2024 final, which seemed rather spiteful of them.

If we wanted Tony Brown, they should have chosen Jamie Joseph. The fact that Brown went to SA probably says a lot about how other coaches - outside the Crusaders - feel about working with Razor.

It's well known that Razor rejected any other role than Head Coach with his team.

Vern Cotter like Graham Henry only coached also rans who where no real threat to the All Blacks, same with Jamie Joseph. These are the guys we should be looking to not a couple of mercenaries who sell out to the highest bidder.

That's not evidence that it is Papali'i's decision is it? The comment said it was "DPs decision". There is zero evidence that any of those things were DP's decision.

Throwing something out here, but I'm beginning to wonder if a key (or main?) issue is Robertson not trusting his players - and his coaches.
Media savvy, uber-confident bloke promotes himself in the media to get the job, NZR board fixated on media image gets dazzled by the projected image but the job is way harder than expected. Difficult for both parties to admit there's a serious problem so look everywhere but their own front door.
Seen it plenty of times in business and it generally doesn't end well.

Any other AB coach in the last thirty years would be getting “should be fired” coverage from the media for shitty results like this.
He’s very lucky the media are just fans these days, scared of losing access.
