Unfortunately this article is behind a paywall, but it could be the reasoning Beaudy continues to have the stranglehold on the AB 10 jersey.
Can someone on here access it?

. Razor rang rings around them for years in super rugby and it’s no surprise that if he’s not up to it, the rest won’t be.Yeah well not according to Crusaders CEO who reckons a lot most it was down to the young talent unearthed by Aaron Webb.
But, as Crusaders chief executive Colin Mansbridge said: “Everyone goes ‘Razor, Razor, Razor’, maybe there should be more ‘Webby, Webby, Webby’.”Yes, agreed. The crusaders operation ran rings around other organisations. Being better in virtually every aspect of an organisation against your rivals will see you dominate them.

@DurryMexted If it is the case that BB is only there because of this relationship, I doubt this is what Razor decided, this would have come from the top of NZR telling him BB must play...
I would also doubt, the head of that corporate that invested millions would have any expectations on who the ABs should select week in week out, especially as it could potentially impact the eyeballs seeing his brand if the teams he is sponsoring continues to splutter.

They might not have expectations on should play, but it would be expected for the ABs to showcase a 'super star' at corporate gigs. It would then be strange if that 'super star' didn't actually play many games. Besides BB, and to a lesser extent Ardie, this AB team arguably doesn't yet have any other 'super stars'.
-
@Crazy-Horse although anyone who knows rugby at these corporate gigs would also know these stars are fading, and wonder why Roigard and/or Holland arent there instead

The other players were ALB and QT. I think they just selected some players who could construct a coherent sentence. There’s not many options

Good point. I forgot about them.

Not available on the Wayback machine yet. But the company must be Gallagher Insurance.

Heard from someone on this site that Beauden Barrett was continually preferred because the high ups wanted him picked due to marketability or some shit. (Ardie too). I am not sure if I can believe the process has become that corrupted. If it has, we're screwed.

Don't worry Frank, if I believed even a 10th of reasons why some players are picked, I would be in a spin. I would say anyone who said it was talking shit to you mate. Geez it easy to see how rumours start isn't it?
FFS Marketability is better from winning teams than anything.
F*** me there was a rumour in late 80s that David Kirk was AB captain, because he would attract young girls to supporter base, and that was a rumour in paper!! -

I guess we can only speculate at this stage until somebody fesses up. It's either that to explain BB's continued selection, or multiple coaches being too thick to see what seems pretty obvious to the average punter.
Maybe it's us punters who are the stupid ones?

Well there is a lot of stupid punters that is for sure .
If will come unravelling sooner than latter.
If the coaches who keep picking BB it must be because he is playing really well as there are a lot of coaches backing him.
Or? -

ive faired variations of this for a while....at very least i think that the coaches get pressure to name players that have signed long contracts....so it seems like it was worth it...no business will want to pay big buck for someone to sit in the stands

TBH, I don't believe this conspiracy theory, if Richie Razor Jnr Mo'unga was in NZ all this time he would have been starting.
No coach is going to stay in a job where they're being dictated by marketing over team selection. Surely Razor is not that much of a yes man ....
