I see everyone rushing to anoint England as RWC favs, Rattue included. If there's anything I've learnt, it's that one game means nothing - if England roll all and sundry in the 6N, then let's talk.
I can't think of such favorable external circumstances for NZ for this RWC - no hometown advantage, except for Japan who are not contenders, and for once NZ are unlikely to be outright favourites.

More than happy with that. There were questions raised about the ABs at RWC2015 until we hammered France in the quarter-final. Can't help but think that worked in our .

What these experts are not taking into account is England's draw. They have by far the hardest draw of any of the top teams. They have to play Argentina and France in the last two rounds of pool play which effectively means that they have to be close to or at their peak for five consecutive weekends in order to lift the cup. Not an easy ask.

He's also the kind of piston wristed gibbon who, if the ABs won the final 9-6, would laud them for their 'guts, determination, precision' and any other superlatives.

2007 England proved that form during the tournament doesn't matter much either. They were a dragged toe away from potentially winning the final. And stank up the joint during that horrible, horrible tourney

Yep. Murray has been off the boil since he came back from his neck injury. Sexton at least had the excuse that he hadnāt played since December before going into the England test. The early possible injury report has Earls, Toner, Ringrose, and definitely Stander out of next week, which added to the absence of Henderson, Beirne, Marmion, Luke McGrath is going to test the depth a fair bit.
Either Dillane or Roux partnering Ryan and the other on the bench. POM is also carrying a rib injury that he looks like he hasnāt got over yet, but heāll soldier on.
So Schmidt has a fair bit to do to get them back on the horse for next weekend with the Scots licking their lips.
My early guess (assuming the above injuries) for next weekās lineup would be:
McGrath, Best*, Furlong
Ryan, Roux
POM, SOB, Murphy
Murray, Sexton*
Henshaw/Aki, C Farrell
Conway, Stockdale, R Kearney
Reps: Scannell, Healy, Porter, Dillane, vdF, Cooney, Carbery, AddisonWeāll see how the week goes.

On the whole, I think he did a good job of holding up the English defence with what (at fist glance) seemed to be hesitancy, but as the game wore on was clearly a plan. A couple of steps looking at what options he had close to the ruck to dart himself, or use a crash runner, seemed to open up more space for subsequent phases. I think it was part of the game plan and worked quite well (something I think the ABs should have tried to do more of last November).
