@mikedogz I know that, was it the fact we arent about to face the lions or not on an 18 win streak that gave it away šŸ˜‰ ....think Woodward has said it before too

    Well...Go Fozzie!!! šŸ™‚

The good thing NZ Rugby has done is make this a two year appointment.

If Foster reverts to his Chiefs coaching form then the axe can and should fall. He needs to prove that he can select and coach a side to be number one in the world.

The good thing about having Rennie as Australian coach is that he'll provide an excellent benchmark for Fozzie's performance. If the Bledisloe finds itself on the wrong side of the Ta$man in the next couple of years, I think that will be the number 1 KPI failure.

No 2 KPI will, I think, be achieving at least parity in terms of matches won vs the Boks. Anything less will be slippage.

Plumtree's coaching record has some pretty decent highlights/experience.

    • 2007 - Sharks assistant coach Super Rugby - Sharks got to a home final and should have won (Habana scored matchwinner after hooter)
    • 2008 - Head coach of Natal Sharks in Currie Cup (Currie Cup champions)
    • 2010 - Head coach of Natal Sharks in Currie Cup (Currie Cup champions)
    • 2013-14 - Ireland assistant coach (forwards)
    • 2015-17 - Hurricanes assistant coach - lost a home final 15 + won Canes only Super title 16
    • 2019 - Hurricanes head coach - came within a whisker (or Sam Whitelock undetected hand in the ruck) of beating the Crusaders in Chirstchurch Super Rugby Semi Final

Plumtree is an outstanding assistant. That's where he needs to stay though with a head coach who will pull him into line with his love of plodders.

Bunch of idiots, can't see anything but a continuation of the downward slide we are currently on.

Brad Mooar (if confirmed) is not a huge surprise. I've heard that Razor and him don't really get along.

Razor is a long way from ready for this job. Key for him is to leave the safe CRUSADERS / Canterbury environment and to get some overseas experience. And mature a bit

Congratulations to Ian. A proud moment for him and his family.

I think he’ll bring something different to what we’ve seen over the last little while. Similar to Hansen who changed things up a bit post-Henry.

I’m hopeful and wish him and the new coaching team well.

weeelll the collective wisdom of the Fern thought Shag's appointment in 2011 was a bit bleak too.

Massive failure with Wales, powder puff forwards, lineout woes, terrible relationship with the media....

Lets hope we are all wrong again in 2020

Conversely there were high expectations heading into 2000 after the Wayne Smith appointment and things didn’t really pan out that well....

    @ACT-Crusader so we're consistent.

Not the guy I'd have appointed, never been a fan, but all the luck in the world to Ian Foster.

@ACT-Crusader it used to say something like that didn't it?

Now "Consistently wrong for over two decades"

"Wrong for so long we now talk about colonoscopys"

Good luck to Foster and his team, I for one am excited for 2020, we get to challenge the World Champs, play a new Wallabies side and see how this team rebounds from their failure in 2019.
