Apple butter is on, 10 hours and counting...thinking it might be a good match for hot cross buns?

I remember that time, when the world was still going, when you made that post about sport, and it was quite good.

Now we have no sport, and you're making fucking apple butter, and you're waiting 10 fucking hours for it, and wondering what to fucking pair it with.

    How did we get here!!!!

Sounds to me like you were living in a fantasy land. Welcome to reality, Neo.

That didn't appear to work. Have no idea how to upload a gif, FWIW, Cypher agrees with your sentiment

@voodoo so apologies. I've had this recipe probably 35 years. loose Hard copy took an age to find it. I don't use recipes for Indian any more as I know the basics and how to get the balance I want. If I was to cook it now if roast whole
spices and grind them but 35 yrs ago it was hard enough to get some of this stuff
Actually it occurs to me that I must not have cooked this for ages as it's a bit basic. However it was as I said a go to. Back in the day
    Anyways for what it's worth
    2 tbs vinegar
    1 tbs coriander
    1 tbs cumin
    1 tsp mustard
    1 tsp fenugreek
    1/2 tsp turmeric
    1/2 tsp cardamom
    1/2 tsp cloves
    1 tsp chilli
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    6 tbs oil
    1 chopped onion
    5 cloves finely chopped garlic
    1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
    2lbs!!! Cubed lamb
1/2 cup tomato puree diluted with 1/2 cup warm water
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp sugar
    2tbsp tamarind juice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves

1 mix vinegar, coriander, cumin, turmeric, misread, cardomom, fenugreek, cloves, chilli and cinnamon to a paste. Set aside.
2 heat oil in skillet. Add onion garlic ginger sauce lightly till onions translucent. Add paste and cook 3 mins
3 add meat brown add tomato structure salt and sugar gently simmer half covered until meat is tender add tamarind juice mix through. Sprinkle with coriander leaves yield 4-6

I joked today I didn't drink in teh morning much while on lockdown.

We were pretty diligent about not drinking druing the week, but that shit's out the window.

Still, planning to light the charcoal bbq tomorrow which will be good fun.

Todays cook is Brisket! But not a whole brisket as we are going to do that with Neighbours. Half a brisket in slow cooker with a home made BBQ sauce.

I'm not a traditional BBQ sauce fan but made from scratch, It's quite ok.

My work area is next to kitchen so I smell the goodness all day. Smells great in here at the moment.

Best part is, it took 20 mins to get ready (Sauce ingredients and browning off the meat) and I don't need to do anything else. It just does it own thing. Cooking at its simplest.

What style are you doing? I usually make a tomato based sauce, but others go nuts with vinegar bases.

Love me some good bbq sauce.

I also made some chili oil to start the lockdown. We have a literal 'panic button' (bell) that the kids get out when I eat it; if it gets too hot, I push the panic button 🙂
