    Job done.

I wonder if that was a planned setup or instinct? It was very fast.
It’s like deliberately missed a high jab to suck Whyte into dropping his hand to the body. Took a weak body shot to open a gap to the chin.

Povetkin proving me wrong and proving how clever he still is. He set that trap up beautifully slipping past Whyte's sloppy straight right and catching him with a beaut of an uppercut. Povetkin still proving to best at setting traps in the HW division turning back the clock there. See ya Whyte.

Might be a blessing for the division , (not whyte )

Whyte has a rematch clause with povetkin ,it seems the mandatory fight against the winner of Fury v Wilder only applied to Whyte , Povetkin has to take the rematch against Whyte first , and gets it if he wins again , didnt hear anything about that in the lead up, but eddie was quick to mention it after the fight

while that is all taking place ,It might open a door to get a Fury v AJ fight instead , should they both win their fights .......... hopefully

@MiketheSnow Hopefully we don't have to listen to anymore rubbish on how hard done by he has and how wonderful his resume is (which it isn't), and how he fights anybody anywhere (which again isn't true).

This is an interesting read about the deal to make the Parker-Fa fight happen.

Small date change for the Parker v Fa fight

                https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/joseph-parker-v-junior-fa-date-changed-for-heavyweight-boxings-fight-of-the-century/AYIYVH6RPXETB5TAAXGO2YB36M/

Kiwi heavyweight boxers Joseph Parker and Junior Fa will have to wait slightly longer than expected to square off after their upcoming bout was pushed back.

Initially scheduled to be held on Friday December 11, the 12-round clash will now take place on Saturday December 12 at Auckland's Spark Arena.

The fight was originally scheduled as a Friday night affair due to the possibility of clashing with an All Blacks game on the Saturday.

However, with the All Blacks schedule recently confirmed and the team playing their final game of the Tri-Nations in late November, the decision was made to move Fight of the Century, in association with Stonewood Homes, back a night.

@Duluth Good to finally get some live boxing without getting charged PPV for average fights like this.

Think Fa is definitely a bit over the odds too. Surely if Joe doesn't win he's finished (if he wasn't already)

Got a handful of tickets (think 6 or 8 ) and not too sure if I will even go or not. None of the lads seem too interested either.

The media noise has been strangely quiet. I assume DUCO are worried about a covid delay? Maybe it picks up later in the week

The only reason I knew this was on this weekend was because I try to follow MMA news/interviews. If Fa wasn't training out of CKB I probably wouldn't have known when it was on

@duluth Can't agree there sorry. Fa's been terrible as a pro where he has struggled badly against very low level journeymen. He has a poor gas tank, an average chin (as was shown against 44 year old Dominic Guinn), terrible footwork and doesn't carry a lot of power. If I were Fa and his team, I'd go for broke early as the longer the fight goes on, the weaker he'll get and Parker will get stronger.

                                    Parker by mid rounds stoppage.

Sure, Parker deserves to be a healthy favourite. But $1.10 v $6.00?

@duluth Can't agree there sorry. Fa's been terrible as a pro where he has struggled badly against very low level journeymen. He has a poor gas tank, an average chin (as was shown against 44 year old Dominic Guinn), terrible footwork and doesn't carry a lot of power. If I were Fa and his team, I'd go for broke early as the longer the fight goes on, the weaker he'll get and Parker will get stronger.

                                        Parker by mid rounds stoppage.

@african-monkey Has Fa been a fulltime professional or does he combine boxing with working a regular job? Training full time obviously makes a big difference if you have the natural talent/ability but has to be balanced against earning a regular income to feed your family.

Not a great fight so far.

Joe is winning, but Fa is making it as ugly as possible. I don't blame him though.

Fa should get a warning for all this clinching though. Parker is definitely frustrated with it.
