i don't really believe in all this "motivating the opposition" guff, this isn't park football

    but

we are starting to talk this up to uncomfortable levels.

Yeah - a couple of weeks ago, no-one thought the Aussies would get close to SA.

    In theory you'd think:

    NZ>Aus
    Aus>SA

    So NZ>SA

But, it doesn't always happen that way.

However, the Boks will be paying plenty on the TAB.

this week franks the form either way

Have the Wallabies been hugely improved by the changes at 10 and 12?

    or

Are the Boks really just rubbish

i get the feeling it's a bit from column A and a bit from column B. And we are going to have to be sharp to take advantage of whatever opportunities we get. And stay patient

One thing is that it's starting to get warm in North Queensland. Are we the afternoon game or the night game?

It’s like when everyone thought since Frazier > Ali and then Foreman > Frazier then naturally Foreman > Ali was a logical conclusion.

I don’t know what this has to do with Rugby but shut the fuck up Laurie ‘funeral face” Mains. Predictions like that have a habit of blowing up in faces.

the Bok away are different to the Bok at home, and while they will always lift for an AB match, and the physicality will need to be top notch from us...there will now be lingering doubts (in thier own minds too) about how good they really are, after we smoked Aus, and they have been beaten by Aus, twice...sure it isnt that straight forward, or maybe thier coach has been targetting this match for 4 years 😉

                  I think you're right.

But, if Laurie is right about them missing Super rugby, then they should be better for their games against Oz.

Missing big Pieter-Steph and Kolbe won't have helped them. They might get Kolbe back for this game?

That point just after half time where they suddenly started playing up-tempo was weird. Faf took a quick tap, they panicked the Aussies, and scored immediately.

And then just, reverted to type?

But, it doesn't always happen that way.

However, the Boks will be paying plenty on the TAB.

this week franks the form either way

Have the Wallabies been hugely improved by the changes at 10 and 12?

                        or

Are the Boks really just rubbish

i get the feeling it's a bit from column A and a bit from column B. And we are going to have to be sharp to take advantage of whatever opportunities we get. And stay patient

One thing is that it's starting to get warm in North Queensland. Are we the afternoon game or the night game?

an insightful and serious post...you've changed man

sorry, i'll revert to taking potshots at people

Yeah - a couple of weeks ago, no-one thought the Aussies would get close to SA.

I don't see the B. Barrett has done anything this year to deserve being picked to start. People assume he is going to come right (blather about how class never goes, blah, blah, blah) but he doesn't add anything for me other than slightly better tackling. Nor has Foster ever seemed to pick him as his first choice.

If we start with Perenara, then the main criteria for the #10 will be who can best pick the ball up from around their ankles.

For all the talk of how dangerous the bombs of south Africa are, they put up appropriately 230 over the past 2 weeks, the wallabies dealt with them appallingly, and won both games

                                  I am not worried.

Keep the ball for various sets of 5+ phases and we'll score more than they are capable of with their current game plan

Those bombs are such an insanely low percentage play, I'm astounded anyone thinks they're a good idea? Even if you get the ball back, best case scenario is you've made about 10m? Actually scoring from them is very rare.

The Boks will lift for us, the first 40 will be brutal. I expect them to run out of gas in the 2nd 40 though, but we'll have to play well and take our chances. The Boks are not Argentina, they know how to adjust to the game situation and get under the other teams skin etc. They've got some wiley old campaigners in their side.

24C and 68% humidity is the forecast at kickoff. Expect a high tempo game to run them off their feet.

i don't really believe in all this "motivating the opposition" guff, this isn't park football

                                        but

we are starting to talk this up to uncomfortable levels.

Yeah - a couple of weeks ago, no-one thought the Aussies would get close to SA.

                                        In theory you'd think:

                                        NZ>Aus
                                        Aus>SA

                                        So NZ>SA

But, it doesn't always happen that way.

However, the Boks will be paying plenty on the TAB.

It has absolutely zero effect (unless the team starts to believe it). All it does is give opposition fans ammo to tease us if results go the other way.

This will be the team if ALB is fit:

                                          9 Perenara
                                          10 Barrett

I don't see the B. Barrett has done anything this year to deserve being picked to start. People assume he is going to come right (blather about how class never goes, blah, blah, blah) but he doesn't add anything for me other than slightly better tackling. Nor has Foster ever seemed to pick him as his first choice.

If we start with Perenara, then the main criteria for the #10 will be who can best pick the ball up from around their ankles.

Not sure how to react to this.

Thought Barrett and TJP had played well in recent weeks.

Can I ask who your alternatives are?
