<p>But, we (<em>most</em> people on the Fern) are educated and largely sensible people that can very easily see the harm in these things. Restricting advertising is a way of saving children from their uneducated idiotic parents. The type of people that see Richie drinking a Powerade on T.V. and think "yeah awesome if Richie drinks a Powerade I'll feed my kid 5 per day and he'll end up just like Richie!!!".</p>

<p>I can see both sides of the argument, parents need to take responsibility but if we are going to be realistic there will always be parents like this. We can't just do nothing for these kids.</p> -

I had a bogan from Levin genuinely suggesting that allowing my 6 month old baby to drink the 'froth' off the top off my beer was a good idea, and couldn't understand why I wouldn't do it. Said I was "no fun" or something to that effect.</p>
