@Donsteppa and then the uncharacteristic errors, sure the pressure does that too, but if you aren't clear on what you and the guys either side of you are meant to be doing, where you are going, that split second of indecision can be huge.
There has been zero improvement in 5 years, sure that's not all on Foster, but if he was a good coach he'd have recognised some of the issues earlier and put plans in motion to rectify.
From what I hear about Razor, it's his meticulous preparation and planning that sets him apart, not necessarily HIS coaching abilities, but the fact he gets everyone on the same page, unlike now as I'm not sure all our guys are even reading the same book...
I can understand why Razor might want to stay out of it right now. It appears we have so much to do to clean out the rot from 2019. But I wish he'd take up the challenge and I'd accept the consequences and not blame him if we don't have a miraculous turnaround
Will it be any better next year after the RWC?
I guess he could start from scratch and pick his team after SR with time to set up his systems
@canefan well I think EOYT would be a better opportunity, maybe NZR give him control of picking the other nz 15 too, so he can pick his AB and 2nd 15, plus it will allow him to get any npc players that catch his eye
-
@Billsy111 sorry, I was taking the piss. The buck stops at the coaching, all aspects.

I was too sleep deprived to figure it out. But it did allow a few more swats at Ferret Foster for the sake of BoP Mafia nostalgia...

I'm all for it. NZRFU will have to fire Fozz. Then the board can practice what Robinson preaches and resign

@Bones Your right when you say players are accountable too. But let's look at the facts. Nothing changed tactically between the 2nd and 3rd Irish Tests. Now we go to South Africa and can't handle there aerial bombardment, a tactic they've used on us before. Same Cane said it was a game of margains. He's right bloody big ones. They were men, we were boys. We once again got our arse handed to us on a plate. Foster said he saw improvement, oh good, then maybe in sometime this year we'll win another test. NO. Sorry Foster your time is up and you just simply have to go. No ifs buts or maybes. You are not up to this, now do the decent thing.

Nothing has really changed since 2015

@canefan Not so much that Have to be performance assessed like a business.
We have been poor for so long -
We were up against a crowd who were so joyous and having fun. ABs were nervous, consigned to the fact they were going to be criticised. I don't care if they lose again this year. I want them to free up and have some fun

Here they are for you
https://www.nzrugby.co.nz/about-nzr/governance/our-board/#:~:text=Our Board is charged with setting strategy%2C direction,be made by a vote of the Board. Not sure if the problem is solely with that lot but maybe in the paid employees headed by Mr. Robinson and including the panel that appointed the Head Coach

We were lucky SA didn't reach 40 pointsWould that have mattered? They did it to us in 04. Up until last night that 2004 match was my lowest point as far as AB performances go against the Boks.
Foster and co eclipsing all sorts of low moments

@Donsteppa maybe this is our peak

RWC QF exit looks our ceiling at the moment.

At least there is no danger of peaking between World Cups this time around.
The World Cup favourites monkey is well and truly off our backs.
Phew.

Not at all, according to foster this was our best performance of the year, all downhill to the RWC now

Jesus Christ, what planet is he on?
“I know people are frustrated, and we’re frustrated with the results,” he added, “But you don’t achieve growth if you get too panicky and start making dramatic changes and put too much pressure on players. We want them to feel the pressure tonight, understand what it’s like playing test matches over here, and we’ve got to be sharper in what we do
No wonder the players love him, he's a useless fat soft teddy bear, all touchy feely, and no pressure
