If we're honest with ourselves there's only two standouts so far; Roigard and Stevenson. Others are playing well, but not at a level that screams "pick me for the All Blacks".

Lester F needs to back up that last game and he may be given another go. A player that can play midfield and wing is valuable in a RWC squad especially for minnow games.

He was so disappointing though in the AB's. Maybe SR is his level

I don't disagree based on evidence so far. But maybe he can force another crack?

How many times did they play Bridge after his injuries or Jordie on the wing? He looked like he had a case of nerves, Leceister might be worth another look.

Definitely. But unless he plays brilliant rugby game after game, I would leave him until next year. With maybe Robertson as his AB coach

yup. I'm not saying he is first in line either. I suspect we'll see some interesting new backline be it JJ or Razor (not sure who else is applying).

Kicks, attacks, vision...Could Roigard in a future AB team be a backup 10?

One of the few games in which McLeod didn't look out of his depth and he is being mentioned in the same breath as the ABs? He has got a long way to go.

@mikedogz He seems to have a really good kicking game which is not just box kicking. Hopefully he gets some gametime at 10 before the end of the season.

Yeah it's a bit weird eh, granted he went well but it's the only noticeable (in a good way) game he's played at super level. Slim pickings I guess but I find it strange he's being hyped in a few articles when he's not exactly shone before.

BTW, that is Samipeni Finau directly behind Roigard at the breakdown in the third photo of that article.

The was mention in an article that he had a terrible time with the squad. Anyone know what that was about? He had enough Saders team mates around him for support and no one else has mentioned problems in the camp.

Actually, he had a really strong debut against Ireland. I recall that I'd warned y'all that he wasn't test ready and I got a couple of little claps back on that. 🙂

Second test he was poor, got a yellow card, subbed - and never seen again.

Given the licorice all sorts approach to the loose forward trio selection maybe Hugh Renton stands a chance?

Been very solid in a Highlanders team that in all due respect has struggled and we all know Gus won't make the AB's this year - leaves a gap at 8.

The only other option is Stevenson - but that's been talked to death already.
