Black Caps v Australia

Southee getting smacked down the ground for 4 by Hazlewood sums his performance up really. Not worrying any of their players right down to 11.

Disastrous start to the day, Aus well on top now

I don't hate getting through a few overs here. The pitch is going to improve through the day. What we don't want is too many more runs. Ideally we'd reel off 10 or so maidens and then get the last wicket.

Yeah this one didn't age well.

Hey, my prediction of it getting easier to bat has been pretty good!

This game will be over in 3 days.
Love the Black Caps but this is a rudderless ship -

Kiwi cricketers crumble at the sight of a baggy green cap

nah, it's just taken the NZ Win off the table.
Draw this one, go to CHC, burgle it - and get the 1-0 victory. ANything but 2-0 is a loss for Australia to be frank ... so many WTC points riding on these 2 test series.
Southee's had to go for a while, but they made him Captain. WOR has bowled way better; we needed to be investing in others before today. I am quite frustrated at NZ Cricket right now

I wonder if a team has ever had a worse first session of a day in the 150 years of test history?
9 down over night, 100 for zip next morning. I'd doubt that could be beaten. Would be interesting to see if any have been worse.
