@gt12 And the side hasn't even been picked yet!

Imagine when guys like Ethan Christ, Cullen Grace, George Bell, David Havili etc are headlining the first AB squad for the year, it'll be like the fern version of the thriller in Manila.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a really good shitfight.

That was just an entree compared to test selections during Crusader-blacks or when the Cantabs packed a sad and supported Oz under Robbie Deans.

I'll give Razor a pass if he's conservative in his first couple of squads.

It look Henry, Hansen and Smith the best part of a year to figure out their best team

The first couple of squads in 2004 had the likes of Xavier Rush and Jono Gibbes etc - excellent Super servants but not answers at test level over the long haul.

the only way Drummond will be an AB this year is if the 8 or so halfbacks in front of him get injured.

          Well, I was being ironic.....

There is going to be a huge uproar if Razor picks an AB squad full of guys with limited 'capabilities'.

          .....Imagine a Drummond/Havili axis.....

@ACT-Crusader can give you the 2024 version of the ABs. The next player on the list is obviously McLeod.

@KiwiMurph Yeah the start of every World Cup cycle has a few random players in there.

Even the last one had guys like Alex Hodgman, Peter Umaga-Jensen and Cullen Grace capped with guys like Du'Plessis Kirifi, Quentin Strange and Mitch Dunshea in the squad that season.

Fair to say that those last 3 mentioned probably would have been capped if it wasn't a covid disrupted year.

@mariner4life Hopefully that's exactly the brief that Razor's been given. They don't expect him to select the same squad as Foster did last year or last year's Crusaders, they want him to pick the very best players for All Black Rugby going forwards.

Real pity that XV couldn't play English dirt trackers:

This side would grow from such an encounter:

                  ENS(fullback)/Naholo(K)/Nareki/Rona(13)/Poihipi/Cameron/Ratima/Sititi/Jacobson/Lakai/McWhannell/Delany/Dyer/Thompson/Numia

And would have been a great help in selecting TRC squad.

He also bemoaned flanker Ethan Blackadder suffering a thigh injury at training, likely ruling him out for three weeks.

For all our wondering who Razor will pick here or there, according to him he is basically only picking loosies, Ryan will do tighties (I guess) and Leon outside backs, Holland and Hansen seems will do nidfield etc. Reckons he will only step in if there no concensus. Have heard and read him say similar a couple of times.
