Best of all time?

@mariner4life said in Best of all time?: if i am honest, if i stuck mine out in the wider public it would get just as torn to shreds as it is packed with kiwis. packed You can argue that Ian McGeechan agrees with you. He's picked his best ever and it's packed with Kiwis - packed. Lomu, Kirwan, Carter, Zinzan, McCaw, Fitzpatrick. A few I'd swap - but, no duds in Ian's team - no Jaapies either. Can't say I remember much about Tom Smith. I'd pick Danie Gerber over Brian and look at Oz du Randt vs Leonard.

Os dRChallenge would be a team willing to play that one! First alternatives that spring to mind off the top of my head with no deep thought. All open to debate. 1 and 11 don't leap out at me - need to have a think. Would give them a go though (until the two man advantage kicked in) Blanco

@Steve said in Best of all time?: Christian Cullen is the GOAT fullback. Conrad 13, Read 8, Whitelock, Smith 9 won back to back world cups.... smith didn't debut for the AB's till 2012.....

@KiwiMurph said in Best of all time?: A best ever bench players would be interesting. Not just the next best players but players who delivered off of the bench. Obviously this would be limited to the last 25 years or so. From NZ the likes of Beauden, Faumuina, Weepu come to mind. Hi

@Chris-B said in Best of all time?: Sir Ian McGeechan picks all-time XV - includes three England legends - Ruck That isn't a bad list and I really like the way he considered loosie and centre combos.
Carter cancels Johnny out (have one or the other but I'd pick Carter as well), I wonder if Eales would be that rugged for the modern game, and I wonder if a French or Argentinian prop might get a look in. But not a horrible selection anywhere IMO.

Right, Captains: In no particular order and excluding anyone before the late '70;s Graham Mourie, Fitzy, Ritchie, David Kirk. Ritchie & Mourie for me. Both took teams which were in a bad place and brought to the very top,
