@MN5 He did really well yesterday for the All Blacks XV against England A. He's a better player now than ALB.

    So's my grandmother's pussycat.

Pick the outstanding Dalton Papalii ahead of the absurdly over-puffed Ardie Savea at 7 and I'm happy with the forwards. Fabian Holland in particular is some find. We are tracking well toward the 2027 RWC with the pack.

But the backline is a bit of a disaster. I like Roigard at 9 and Hotham, Fakatava and Pledger all look like good bench options if they stay fit and they are given more experience. We are learning nothing by picking a well past his best Beauden Barrett at 10. Surely there are better options at First Five? DMac is excellent on the bench but should be starting. God knows why Ruben Love is left out in the cold? I'd swap Leicester F and Quinn Tupaea around. LF at 12 and QT at 13. ALB has been terrible this season. Billy Proctor is a back-up player at best. Brendon Ennor is worth another look.. Reiko Ioane looks out in the cold. Hopefully he'll recapture form at Leinster. Caleb Clarke is good but injury prone. Leroy Carter is okay, but Caleb Tangitau may be the better Test player. Will Jordan still isn't a top Test fullback. Right Wing is his natural position at Test level. NZR need to employ a specialist coach from AFL to help our players with dealing with the high ball.

All sound points apart from that one

Especially because his name is not Brendon.

Dammit, you spoiled the opportunity to say he was invisible against England.

    @Bones

Would still be a statement of fact.
Brendon Ennor was completely invisible against England A.

Might as have not even been on the field.

Here’s a link to some footage of the ABs training in England this week…

The team is practicing “falling offloads” for fucks sake.

Never mind high balls, ruck work, etc. right?

@hikastags if you're going to play the fast game, especially around the breakdown it's a pretty good string to your bow.

    Prolly not practicing anything else.

Well would see nothing wrong with practiicing offloads etc, unless you saw whole training session, I think perhaps it a stretch to even think nothing else was trained.
I mean even when I played (and coached etc) we never just trained one thing at any training .

@hikastags Keep the ball alive and away from the ruck where England's Nimrods will be hunting for turnovers. A wise move.

Jacobsen should take a contract in Japan while he still can. Far too many head knocks for his own good, and unable to be trusted to stay fit for the ABs

    I mean, no shit.

But working on falling offloads considering the glaring flaws we have as a team, seems and looks stupid.

Doubt Rassie Erasmus is wasting his time doing falling offload drills.

Really? That sounds like a very Rassie thing to do.

I'm told, (repeatedly), that he's quite an innovator.

Considering Rassie plays high percentage rugby and to SA's strengths... i'm not so sure.

We've seen first-hand how shitty, low percentage offloads can pan out.

He obviously considers the lineout a strength, given that they can do them all over the field. Not sure about high percentage, but it probably is when they are the only ones in it.

Ok so you seriously don't think they should practice falling offloads?
I would suggest they should if they want to play an up tempo game. I would actually hope they practice most facets of the game. High balls, tackling ,passing, ruck speed, mauling etc.
But perhaps just we see things differently , I think you should go for all skills at test level.

Jonah was great at standing offloads when guys did enough to stop him while not bringing him to ground. Those were always great attacking moves.

No falling offloads but the practicing of the midfield lineouts has worked wonders.

    Did someone say look stupid…….

Jacobsen should take a contract in Japan while he still can. Far too many head knocks for his own good, and unable to be trusted to stay fit for the ABs

Lucky that the chiefs signed a great new young 7, given this obvious risk.

    Wait.
