Yeah I thought he alright. The only problem I have with Ratima as back up to Roigard is that they are very similar players, with Ratima not being quite as good.

I think there are other options as the back up 9 who are just as good as Ratima but bring something a bit different.

It's quite annoying that Mark Tele’a is playing NPC and is not around the ABs squad when Razor and co whinge about selection eligibility of players like Mounga and Frizell.

Tele’a had a quiet season in the beginning of SRP but came could in the end. He's still comfortably the best right wing in the country if Jordan is playing fullback.

I can't remember a single good game Reece has played against the Boks and he's also had some poor games against the Puma's like the one we lost last year in Wellington.

He will almost certainly be brought if there is a slipup against the Pumas.

Pumas will certainly be targeting those games against us. Am I correct in saying they haven't beaten us at home yet?

He doesn't have to play any games. If Robertson wants Leicester in the squad, NZR will let Robertson select him.

NZR might publicly say that the requirement is to play NPC but they've ignored that rule in recent years when convenient.

I can't think of any, who did they do that with?

TJ Perenara when he returned from Japan a couple of years back.

Oh true, that wasn't a sabbatical?

I reckon we could just about claim that Sky Stadium should be considered an away game for us so could say that

At home for Argentina. The games are over there this year and looks like they haven't beaten us on their home ground.

They beat the Lions so if their best players like Albernoz are around they will target their maiden win against us on their home soil.

With Noah Hotham under an injury cloud and may need to be replaced, who is the next cab off the rank? Xavier Roe, Kyle Preston?
                          But please no Christie.

Preston has some attributes that the ABs could do with (solid kicking game off both feet and pace), but he showed this year he can be a bit sloppy when clearing the ball under pressure. I think he needs more time.

When we're looking at the 4th choice halfback there will be rough edges. Question is who has the least, or at least fits best with the AB pattern.

Very few ready made Aaron Smiths out there.

They were missing a bunch of their best players against England including Albernoz. It was effectively a couple of development games for them.

They beat the Lion's a month ago. They beat the Springboks September last year in Argentina. They beat us in Wellington. They shouldn't be underestimated.

Didn’t they also put 60ish on Aussie at home? The Argies are a bit like the French, if they turn up we’ll be in for a real fight.

They were missing a bunch of their best players against England including Albernoz. It was effectively a couple of development games for them.

                                      I dont underestimate them.

But England beat them twice without their 10 best players

Contempomi rested more than 10 players from the England series:

Gonzalo García, Tomás Albornoz, Joaquín Oviedo, Franco Molina, Joel Sclavi, Mateo Carreras, Bautista Delguy, Juan Cruz Mallía, Santiago Chocobares, Efraín Elías, Guido Petti, Gerónimo Prisciantelli, Ignacio Calles, Eduardo Bello, Ignacio Ruiz, Marcos Kremer.

Not suggesting that they had more firepower out than England, but it was far from a full-strength team.

                                          On the Fainga'anuku sitch:

New Zealand Rugby has told The Post that Fainga’anuku isn’t available for the Rugby Championship, due to the amount of time he has spent away from New Zealand and the fact that he was only 24 years old when he took up the contract with Toulon. NZ Rugby requires players to have built up a record of long service before they can go overseas and immediately come back into the All Blacks frame upon returning to New Zealand.

So basically the policy is whatever they want it to be on the day.
