Can't wait until we can roll out a starting side of just Faingaanuku and Higgins and annihilate every other side. Should save NZR a fair bit of money too.

What with LF being incredible in a long, turgid competition and Higgins having fixed the hole in the ozone at age group level, AB rugby is safe for many years to come.

Would love to see Leroy Carter selected as a wing and halfback cover great option for a 6-2 bench split
Did a great job for Bay of Plenty last year , it’s not as if the options under Hotham are jumping out at us .

I'm not against this in principal but if Carter is to be selected as genuine halfback cover for the All Blacks then he needs to be playing halfback at Super level (or for BOP at the very least).

To be fair....Jordie wasn't playing wing at SR level when he was deemed one for the ABs 😬

@Bones know you're being facetious but that's sort of my point. Wing isn't anywhere near as specialised a position as halfback. We know what Carter can do on the wing so if Razor's want a 6/2 bench option and sees Carter as a potential asset in that from then he should be encouraging him to play halfback now.

I was actually going to float the Carter as a wing/halfback option last night - this tour seems like the perfect place to do it.

Frankly I’m not convinced by Roe or any of the other options so why not take a little bit of a risk.

If a number 8 can make the late switch to halfback and become I world cup winner, it can't be that specialised.

@zedsdeadbaby Grant Williams covers both wing and halfback for the Boks
Leroy was primarily used as halfback cover for Bop last year , would start on the wing and then shift to 9 in the last 20
Carter can play 9 and offers something completely different with his pace

Plenty of halfbacks have ended up on the wing in games, the latest being McDermott in Melbourne. I remember TJP doing it, and Ratima did that against the Force this year.

Adam Lennox has also played a fairbit of wing and fullback for Taranaki and the Landers.

I don't mind players that have put in the time to the ABs getting a break. It's helps those players last longer and recover from all the contact.

But players like that Mounga and LF that leave early? They can fuck right off.

I don't mind players that have put in the time to the ABs getting a break. It's helps those players last longer and recover from all the contact.

But players like that Mounga and LF that leave early? They can fuck right off.

Faingaʻanuku has played a total of seven tests (two of which were against Namibia and Uruguay) and wasn't deemed good enough for the 23 in the World Cup semi-final or final before he left. Talk of him walking straight back into the squad doesn't sit right.
