Jamie Joseph has the job the work throughs are who the assistants are Hanson,Ellison and Ryan stay on or Jane,Lynn and McIntosh, come on board.
Pipe dream by NZR trying to get JJ and Rennie to work together maybe they can produce a miracle.
JJ was tagged for the Job before Rqzor was cut they are just working out how the above plays out.

My sources tell me Jamie Joseph and Dave Rennie could definitely work together - in fact the pair have spoken.

JJ as head coach, Rennie as lead assistant (Attack), Ryan doing the forwards, Jane the likey defence coach.

I would be keen on that line up, I do admit, and would help set up Rennie for top job later?

@Frank i honestly wouldnt have a problem with it if it made things clear....definitive.....a statement....but if we faf around for several weeks only to end up with the pre determined option....its juts a waste of time

    Absolutely.
Lying to the public that the job is open when the outcome is predetermined.

I don't personally believe Kirk is that unprofessional.

Kirk already lied by telling everyone the players were only told an hour before the press release Razor was sacked.
The players knew well before that.

Yep Chris, but who told the players (if it true), was it Razor himself, if he was close to some of them?

The review board as I understand it.

What your track record for your sauce's accuracy mate?
Perfect premium ketchup, or rancid rotten Watties?

We will see,I hear Jane may take up a strategic coaching spot with the back 3.
Ellison may also stay as defence coach with Jane assisting .

What are you hearing about Ryan & Evans (lineout coach)? Surely they will stay as they were the 2 assistants to do a fair job in 2025.

Nothing much about Evan’s,the players like Ryan he is a chance of staying.

I rate myself as somewhere in the middle. Most of my stuff comes through the Highlanders (hence JJ)

And if this turns out to be the case, I wouldn’t necessarily say I called it first - but from what I hear definitely a possibility that they could work together.

It would be mutually beneficial if they can settle who takes the HC title

I would also be surprised if Ellison left. Him and Jamie get on well.

The other thing to keep in mind with this is that Joseph is far more of a dictator than Robertson, in that he has generally had one lead assistant, with specific coaches underneath.

That's where we are at now
Not coaching performance but that two of the coaches "get on".

For me whether Ellison stays or goes depends on what his role was. If he was responsible for deciding and implementing our patterns then I'd prefer he left. If his job was to faithfully do what he was told to by the HC maybe he can stay if he's comfortable with doing what JJ wants

So apparently Fozzie and Hansen will apply for some roll.
    This could get very interesting.

    A sausage roll, perhaps?

Also mentioned was that Dave Rennie had such a bad relationship with NZR, and particularly Steve Tew, that he didn't want to apply for AB coach in 2019.

One of Knowler's articles mentioned that Joseph's people reached out to NZR to get assurance that the 2023 AB coach position was going to be a genuine contest, and was not just rubber-stamping Robertson's appointment. Joseph did apply, but you can understand how Rennie might feel this time for the same reason.

Inviting applications for a rubber stamp process happened in 2019. Might it have been different in 2017?

So, a long list of 11 who met the criteria:

    Joseph
    Rennie
    Schmidt
    Foster
    Hansen
    Cotter
    Deans
    Mitchell
    Smith
    Gatland
    Crowley
    Pivac
    Haig

Have to shed two already and doubtless several people I've forgotten. I haven't considered people like Kirwan, Hammett, Henry, who surely aren't in any frames.

Simon Mannix? Currently coaching Portugal (was looking up their playing colours)

yeah, it's a terrible criteria as it's basically an over 60s club, most of these guys are close to retirement and in Japan setting up their families for life..

Finding it positive he wants to apply. Hopefully another sign things are being turned around at NZR
