Maybe play Lakai at 7, not 8.
I liked what I saw from Lakai tonight more than what Kirifi has offered tbh.

Just don’t get him to take the kick when a playoff game is on the line. Missed two for the Canes in playoffs (both games against the Brumbies) and one for the ABs in the last WC final.
I’m happy with DMac to take the close kicks and Jordie to bang them from longer range.

Jordie can’t replicate the tinny chip kick plays that Beauden does, where the ball bounces on its end and straight into his arms with the defence flat footed.
Then again, neither can Beauden since around 2018

Tamiti Ellison is a bigger thief drawing a coaching salary for defence than he was drawing a salary as a Super rugby player.
Have to admire a man who is defense coach of the Crusaders in their worst season in years and then slides into the All Black job and concedes record amounts of points but receives very little scrutiny for either.
He is the invisible man when it comes to accountability.
His interviews are Scott Hansen esque too.

Kicking in general play, kicking from penalties or goal kicking? Agree that Jordie is better at all of them.

Beauden gun player in his prime but father time beats no one and it's a good opportunity to give Love and bring in Jacomb or Reihana into the squad a chance to play at 10. Obviously DMac will start next week but these blokes need to be tested at international level playing 10 at some point.
