@Bovidae I reckon Leicester will need an absolute stormer (and Clarke have a shocker) this week if he's to get a game for the real ABs this tour.

I think it's quite a bit more likely that we'll see Reiko on the left wing than Leicester vs England.

It's almost shaping up for that - otherwise Caleb will start 4 games straight.

Ioane back to the wing is a shit idea

Why? Have you seen how much chaos he causes for the opposition whenever he's shuffled back there? If ALB covers centre to the standard Ioane does, which is highly likely, then it's not as shit an idea as running a bumbling Clarke there.

I’ve never seen such an uninspiring crop of allblack wingers over the last 5 years or so.

Hang on, why was George Bridge playing instead of Rieko at RWC 2019?

I've never been a fan of the Havili/ALB midfield because they are much too similar players, their skillsets don't compliment each other, there's no point of difference, lightweight sideways running, who crab across the field away from their support...

I can see them getting chewed up early doors. Driven backwards. Lots of behind the gain line scrambling and then Beaudy trying silly chip kicks to no one.

The crowd will have their dander up too and it will be a scrappy affair. Wouldn’t be surprised if Telea barely touched the ball.

DH is a complete waste of time at 12, we know he can't mix it with the top sides so why are we playing him there again? Should be 15 or on the bench. We need to be investing all of our time into Jordie, Rieko and ALB in the midfield to build combinations. Very frustrating selection.

He's the backup 12. What's the big issue with him getting a start?

We have two games left in the season, Jordie is new at 12 at test level, why the hell wouldn't we give him as much time in the position as possible? All the chopping and changing of positions is why our players don't settle into a role/position.

They could have drafted McKenzie in to 15 if they weren’t happy with Havili or Perofeta at fullback.

            LEAVE JORDIE AT 12

I don't like McKenzie at 15 for the ABs. Strap some big balls on and play Zarn Sullivan.

                Interesting team

Hope Telea goes well to provide another wing option as I don't rate Reece

Biggest disappointment for me is Aumua not getting a run at least in the reserves. Coles is injury prone now so he's one injury away from being in the reserves. Unless Ryan has another Crusader lined up.

I have to admit I find it a bit disrespectful to Scotland to make that many changes. Japan was for trialling players, surely these professionals can handle 3 games in a row at the end of the season. Midfield has been our biggest weakness since 15, let JB and RI play as many games together as possible. I really cannot see any point in playing DH at 12.

I would say yes, if you don't put out your strongest side vs the 8th ranked team in the world suggests a little bit of arrogance and disrespect.

Hah. Yeah Foster wrin...Rin.... making lots of selection changes against a second tier side is quite the departure from how other coaches have faced up to the eoyt.

Hah. Yeah Foster wrin...Rin.... making lots of selection changes against a second tier side is quite the departure from how other coaches have faced up to the eoyt.

I guess that is the difference, I believe Scotland are Tier 1 at the moment and we had plenty of time to tinker vs Japan.

I don't think they're any better than the last few times we've faced them.

Are there really that many changes?

Up until a few tests ago Havili was our best 12 and Jordie our best 15.

There's no clear owner of the 6 jersey so it could well be argued it's the strongest loose forward trio.

The centre has played 58 tests.

                                      Our best hooker is starting.

                                      Hardly screams disrespect.

@KiwiMurph just on the midfield I think Foster wants two very good combinations to call on should there be injury or illness (much like Hansen and Henry wanted) and Jordie/Ioane and Havili/ALB. Not about disrespect or cheapening the jersey.

Starting front row. Two first choice locks. Best available 7 and 8. A 6 that has started or been a bench option.

An 90 test 1st 5. Our best fullback. First choice left wing and a debutant on the right.

The 10, 12, 13, combo is so bad… both Havili and ALB are more playmakers than guys who can carry hard. And they'll be getting average ball cause BB will be shuffling it across.

BB plays so much better with a hard runner at 12.. and his brother happens to be our best 12.. makes way too much sense to start them together.
